Shutters / Product Guide
Roller Shutters
Privacy and light control, tailored to your window opening and everyday use.
Supply and installation begin with a site survey and written specifications tailored to your project.
01 / Understand the System
Details to consider before you choose.
A roller shutter consists of interlocking slats that travel in side guides and roll into a box above the opening. It is fitted in front of a window or door, with manual or electric operation depending on the selected system.
The profile, box, guides and operating method depend on the opening dimensions, installation position and wind exposure. A shutter does not replace the window or glazing, and no insulation value or wind-resistance rating should be assumed without the system documentation.
Benefits and Applications
Increase privacy when closed.
Add electric operation where the system supports it.
Coordinate the openings with the façade and choose a suitable finish.
02 / Designs and Applications
Different settings. Considered solutions.

Integrated box
Plan the box location and service access before finishes are closed up. Review the lintel and insulation without altering structural elements.
External box for renovations
A possible solution for existing openings, subject to checking the fixing surface, box projection and weather sealing where it meets the façade.
Within the opening recess
Check the space for the guides and box so they do not obstruct the window or reduce the required opening unacceptably.
03 / From Preparation to Handover
Clear steps from the start.
Before Installation
- Measure the opening after the final finished level has been established.
- Confirm the box position, guide alignment and service opening.
- For motorised systems, have a qualified professional provide the power supply and electrical protection.
- Review wind exposure, installation height and any façade restrictions.
At Handover
- Test a complete opening and closing cycle without rubbing or misalignment.
- Explain the switch, remote and power-failure procedure, where provided.
- Receive the system details, operating instructions and written warranty.
Dimensions, materials, models, performance limits, installation scope, timeframe, warranty and maintenance terms are defined in the approved quotation. This guide is general guidance and does not replace the installed product’s documentation or a technical site survey.
04 / After Installation
Use it correctly. Care for it simply.
Every Day
Handling and Operation
- Keep objects and hands clear of the slats before operating.
- Use the designated controls. Do not lift the slats by hand on a motorised system.
- In strong winds, follow the operating position specified in the system manual. Stop if the shutter moves abnormally.
As Needed
How to Clean
- Stop movement and safely isolate the power as instructed in the manual before cleaning.
- From a safe position, wipe accessible slats and guides with a soft cloth and a compatible mild cleaner, then dry.
- Remove light dust from the guides without pushing it into the box or electrical components.
Protect the System
What to Avoid
- Do not hose down or pressure-wash the box or motor.
- Do not use abrasive pads, solvents or unapproved oil in the guides.
- Do not dismantle the box or adjust the travel limits yourself.
Do Not Ignore These Signs
When to Request Maintenance
- Movement stops, slats tilt or a new rubbing noise develops.
- Intermittent movement, unusual heat or an odour from the operator.
- Damaged guides, displaced slats or noticeable looseness.
Agree inspection and cleaning intervals with the technician based on the manufacturer’s instructions, usage, dust and humidity. Electrical work, dismantling loaded components and work at height require a qualified professional. Do not attempt these repairs yourself.

05 / Frequently Asked Questions
Before you decide.
Can it be installed after finishing?
An external box or installation within the opening may be possible after a site survey, subject to the available space, weather sealing and façade design.
Do all shutters provide the same sound and thermal insulation?
No. Performance depends on the system, opening, glazing and installation quality. A general percentage does not establish performance.
