Identify treatment suited to the source of damp rather than simply hiding the symptoms.

Waterproofing and Thermal Insulation
Treat roof and wet-area requirements as a complete system, not an isolated coating.
Supply and installation begin with a site survey and written specifications tailored to your project.
01 / Understand the System
Details to consider before you choose.
Waterproofing aims to limit water passing through building elements, while thermal insulation aims to reduce heat transfer. Each uses different materials, layers and installation details. They may be combined in one roof assembly designed for the project.
Selection begins with diagnosing the source of the problem and assessing the substrate, falls, drains and joints. A coating alone cannot fix every leak. Layer thicknesses, drying times and warranty periods must not be generalised without a specified system, manufacturer’s instructions and a written scope of work.
Benefits and Applications
Coordinate waterproofing with drainage, joints and protection.
Reduce heat transfer with an appropriate, continuously installed insulation system.
Protect finish layers within the designed system and permitted use.
02 / Designs and Applications
Different settings. Considered solutions.
Typical installation examples to illustrate the possibilities. Select an image to enlarge it, then discuss the right solution for your site dimensions with us.
Exposed roof with a protection layer
Review the roof build-up, falls, drains and protection from sunlight and traffic in accordance with the system.
Bathroom before tiling
Coordinate continuous waterproofing at corners, drains and penetrations, then carry out appropriate tests before covering it.
Roof thermal-insulation layer
Review board continuity, joints, layer sequence, protection and loads against the design, rather than appearance alone.
03 / From Preparation to Handover
Clear steps from the start.
Before Installation
- Diagnose the source of water or heat and rectify substrate defects first.
- Check substrate suitability, moisture and weather conditions against the material requirements.
- Approve joint, drain and penetration details before work starts.
- Define testing, protection and handover stages and the warranty scope.
At Handover
- Receive details of the materials, layer build-up and usage limits.
- Carry out an appropriate approved test after the system has fully cured. Do not flood the area without an agreed test procedure.
- Document test results and concealed details before applying finishes.
Dimensions, materials, models, performance limits, installation scope, timeframe, warranty and maintenance terms are defined in the approved quotation. This guide is general guidance and does not replace the installed product’s documentation or a technical site survey.
04 / After Installation
Use it correctly. Care for it simply.
Every Day
Handling and Operation
- Do not use the surface until the specified curing and protection stages are complete.
- Protect the insulation or waterproofing layer from concentrated loads, abrasion and punctures.
- Keep drains and maintenance routes clear, and review any subsequent work before it begins.
As Needed
How to Clean
- Remove leaves and debris from drainage areas using tools that will not damage the membrane.
- Clean the finish according to its material, without sharp tools or pressure that could damage joints.
- Use approved access routes and avoid walking on exposed waterproofing or insulation.
Protect the System
What to Avoid
- Do not drill through the surface to fix equipment without a technically designed penetration detail.
- Do not coat an existing system with an incompatible material.
- Do not use flames, solvents or unapproved repair products.
Do Not Ignore These Signs
When to Request Maintenance
- New damp patches or stains after rain or use.
- Persistent standing water, blocked drainage or separating layers.
- Tears, blisters or damage at joints and penetrations.
Agree inspection and cleaning intervals with the technician based on the manufacturer’s instructions, usage, dust and humidity. Electrical work, dismantling loaded components and work at height require a qualified professional. Do not attempt these repairs yourself.
05 / Frequently Asked Questions
Before you decide.
Is waterproofing the same as thermal insulation?
No. They serve different functions. A suitable system is selected for each, or a combined build-up is designed to provide both.
Can waterproofing be applied over tiles?
Some systems may allow this after assessing adhesion, moisture, falls and details. It is not a universal solution for every site.
